Meet Shadow! This 1-year-old, 45-pound bundle of affection is a Black Lab and Pitbull mix who is eager to become your best friend. From the moment she arrived, Shadow has been all about showering her people with love, tail wags, and puppy kisses. She's a playful pup who enjoys a good game of tug-of-war with her toys and can entertain herself, but she also loves a good cuddle session and some favorite booty scratches. Shadow is potty-trained and walks well on a leash for 10-20 minutes a day. She already knows some simple commands and is very treat-motivated, making training a fun and rewarding experience. Shadow is looking for her forever home where she can continue to learn and grow.
Ideal Home
Shadow would love to have another confident, medium-energy dog in the home to play with and help build her confidence. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be overwhelmed by very high-energy pups. A house with a yard would be ideal for her love of playtime, but she could also adjust to apartment living with proper exercise and enrichment. Due to her excitement and playfulness around cats, a cat-free home is best. While Shadow loves children and is great with them, her bouncy puppy energy means older kids would be the best fit.
Ongoing Health
Shadow is a healthy, happy puppy. She has received age-appropriate vaccinations and preventative care.
Training & Support
Shadow is still mastering her puppy skills and building confidence. She is working on her leash manners, which is typical for her age and will improve with consistent practice. Her treat motivation and existing knowledge of commands like "sit" will make training a breeze.

Shadow is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
