LEO THE LION

Leo the Lion is a loveable 2-year-old Pomeranian mix with a heart of gold. He was surrendered by his former owners and is now looking for his forever family. Leo is a sweet, funny dog who enjoys cuddling, going on long walks, and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, and his seizures are well-controlled with phenobarbital.

Ideal Home

Leo is a smart boy and a quick learner! While he is hearing impaired, he is very good at maintaining eye contact, which helps him know when it's safe to cross the street. He doesn't bark often, but when he does, it's quite loud, so an apartment setting would not be the best fit for him. He interacts well with other dogs, though he's more of a quiet observer than a play initiator. An adopter experienced with deaf and special needs dogs would be a plus.

Ongoing Health

Leo has epilepsy and is currently managed with phenobarbital.

Training & Support

An adopter will be required to take a minimum of two lessons with Leo's trainer, which are included in his adoption donation. His foster has already taken lessons with a trainer specializing in deaf dogs, and Leo is a pro at walking well on leash.
