Copper

Copper is a calm, confident, and easygoing hound who is thrilled to be on his next adventure! Weighing about 50 pounds with long, velvety ears, he's a handsome fellow with a supremely gentle heart. Copper adores leaning in for hugs and soaking up affection. He gets along well with other dogs and children in his foster home and rides quietly in the car and crate. His only vocalizations are happy "baroos" when anticipating his meals! Copper walks well on a leash but will pull when he catches a scent, and he loves the freedom of the dog park. He also enjoys napping in amusing positions. Like many hounds, Copper is curious about kitchen counters but is easy to redirect and enjoys being with his people without being overly clingy. While not a big barker, his resonant baritone "baroo" means he'd do best in a home without shared walls. Copper is a terrific, gentle gem who can't wait to find his forever family.

Ongoing Health

All dogs from Wags come spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age-appropriately), and tested for heartworm (if over 9 months). They also receive deworming and preventative flea/tick/heartworm medication. Any other necessary veterinary treatment recommended by a veterinarian is also provided.

Training & Support

Copper walks well on a leash but will pull when he picks up a scent. He is curious about kitchen counters but is easily redirected.

Transporation

Dogs from Wags live in foster homes throughout the Madison area. Applications are the first step in the adoption process, and animals are not available for daily viewing.
