Meet Echo, a delightful 12-week-old female Pomeranian mix with a striking white and merle coat. Weighing in at 4 lbs currently, she's expected to be between 10-18 lbs as an adult, though this is not guaranteed as her parentage is unknown. Echo is a bright and happy puppy who loves to play and is learning quickly. She enjoys teething toys and soft toys, but like many puppies, she has a fondness for human shoes when unsupervised! Echo is deaf, which means she relies heavily on her other senses and her humans to be her "ears." She is currently working on potty training and uses pee pads, but her small bladder requires patience and consistency. Echo is also still learning to navigate her world and will need a watchful eye to ensure her safety, especially when it comes to chewing on inappropriate items she might find. She is current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and has started heartworm and flea prevention.
Ideal Home
Echo requires a home with another small, dog-friendly dog to keep her company and play with. She would do best in a home where someone is present most of the time, such as a work-from-home situation or with limited hours away from home. Children in the home should be 12 years or older, and it's essential that all household members are agile, active, and very alert due to Echo's small size and quick movements.
Ongoing Health
Echo is currently healthy and happy. She is up-to-date on her age-appropriate vaccinations and has begun heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Echo is deaf, which means she will need her adopter to be her "ears." It's crucial to never let her off-leash in unsecured areas and to always be aware of her surroundings, as she cannot hear traffic or other potential dangers. Gentle waking and foot-tapping can be used to get her attention. While deaf dogs can be startled, they are not inherently more aggressive. Echo is still mastering potty training and may have accidents due to her small bladder. She will need a consistent routine and patience. Puppy-proofing the home is essential as she is curious and will chew on things.
