Kona

Kona is a delightful 7-year-old, 70-pound Shepherd mix who has quickly become a favorite among our staff and volunteers! She's a big girl with an even bigger personality, absolutely loving long walks, exciting hikes, and of course, tasty treats. She's even mastered giving a paw or two for a cookie and greets everyone she meets with enthusiasm and affection. Kona is truly a beautiful soul, inside and out.

Ideal Home

Kona would thrive in a calm, low-traffic home environment. She needs a home without young children or other pets to ensure she can feel secure and focused.

Ongoing Health

Kona is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

Training & Support

Kona has a history of resource guarding, meaning she can be protective of her belongings or food. While she has received some training to address this, it's crucial that her new family is experienced with canine resource guarding or committed to continuing her training. Our dog walkers consistently praise her as the easiest and most affectionate dog to walk in the kennel, but this is in a controlled setting. She needs a home that can provide consistent structure and routine to help her continue to build confidence and manage her guarding behavior.
