Meet Shadow, a one-year-old Black Lab and Pitbull mix who's 45 pounds of pure affection and playful energy! From the moment she meets you, Shadow wants to be your best friend, leaning in for love and showering you with tail wags and puppy kisses. She's a smart cookie who already knows simple commands and is potty trained. She also enjoys walks and plays enthusiastically with her toys, sometimes even entertaining herself! When it's time to relax, she's happy to cuddle up for some favored booty scratches.
Ideal Home
Shadow would do best in a home with another confident, medium-energy dog who enjoys playing. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be a bit overwhelmed by super high-energy pups. A house with a yard would be a plus, as she loves to play, but she could adapt to apartment living with enough exercise and enrichment. Shadow is a bouncy, playful puppy, so a home with older children would be ideal. She needs a cat-free home, as she can get a little too excited and playful around cats.
Ongoing Health
Shadow is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP vaccinations with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has also received multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. She has also been tested for heartworms.
Training & Support
Shadow is eager to learn and is very treat motivated. She already knows how to sit, which makes training fun and rewarding. She is still working on her leash manners, which is normal for her age and will improve with consistent practice.

Transporation
Shadow is currently in the Houston, Texas area. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA-certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Transport has an $87 surcharge. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
