Maxie

This sweet gal is Maxie! Maxie lost her owner and ended up in a shelter. She had been through so much, and when she came to us, we found out she was Heartworm positive. Maxie definitely deserved a chance to live out her golden years, so she went through the extensive work-up to prepare her for treatment. Heartworm treatment is a several-month process and is very hard and uncomfortable. There was also no guarantee the treatment would work or that she would survive. Maxie was a real trooper through the whole treatment and was one of the lucky ones that survived. She is now Heartworm negative and ready for her forever home! Maxie is a loving senior lady who enjoys leisurely walks and is cat-friendly! She also does well with dogs her size.

Ideal Home

Maxie would love a home where someone is home most of the time. She would do best in a home with children 12 or older.

Ongoing Health

Maxie is now Heartworm negative! She will need to be on Heartworm preventive year-round for the rest of her life and tested for Heartworm on a regular basis.

Training & Support

Maxie is house-trained and enjoys leisurely walks.
