Poppy is a brindle babe with an adorable underbite and a signature happy hop that hints at her surprisingly high IQ, especially when it comes to "toy (de)construction." Estimated to be around 5 years old and weighing about 64 lbs, we suspect she's a boxer/pittie mix, but as with any rescue, her exact breed and birthday are a delightful mystery, though her personality is anything but! She's a reserved girl who likes to get to know you before bestie status is granted. Once she warms up, you'll see her true happy, bouncy nature emerge. Poppy enjoys short bursts of playful energy followed by plenty of lounging. Even her zoomies are adorably brief, just enough time for a quick lap before returning to her sniffing adventures.
Poppy's favorite hobby is de-stuffing plush toys, so if you have toys that are meant to be enjoyed for more than a few minutes, you might want to consider a more durable subscription tier! In playgroup, she showed she does best with calm, respectful canine friends who understand the art of "play if invited." She walks well on leash, generally more interested in exploring her surroundings than making a fuss about other dogs.
Ideal Home
Poppy would thrive in a calmer home environment where her people appreciate her relaxed pace. A home with a yard would be wonderful, but she may also do well in an apartment with sufficient daily exercise and enrichment. Poppy is looking for a cat-free home, as her curiosity towards felines was a bit too intense during a meet-and-greet.
