Solomon

Solomon is a handsome and playful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees, weighing about 90 pounds. He came to us as a stray and has been enjoying life in a foster home while he waits for his forever family. Solomon is eager to please and has a great attitude toward his humans. He's a smart and loving boy who is ready to find his perfect match.

Ideal Home

Solomon needs a home with a big, securely fenced yard where he can safely roam and patrol. He also loves tennis balls, daily walks, brushing, pets, good kibble, great treats, lots of play time, and gentle scratches. He would likely do best in a home that understands the Great Pyrenees breed, so some research is recommended before applying.

Ongoing Health

Solomon tested positive for Lyme disease and is currently undergoing a 30-day course of treatment. He will need to wait until May for his neuter surgery.

Training & Support

Solomon is still learning leash manners and can be easily distracted by squirrels, birds, and blowing leaves. He is learning "LEAVE IT" and "WITH ME" and will do best with an exercise routine, consistency, and patience. While treats don't always grab his attention on walks due to all the interesting smells, it's still a good idea to bring some along. He is a quick learner, sitting calmly when asked, and was a perfect gentleman during his first nail trim. He waits patiently for his collar and leash to be put on. Solomon has not been tested with cats and is still being introduced to the resident dogs in his foster home.
