Meet Michelle! This 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix is about 48 pounds of pure joy and enthusiasm. Michelle was rescued from a high-kill shelter and is now living her best life in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her forever family. She's a social butterfly, especially with other dogs, and loves to play and nap with her foster siblings. While she can get a little overexcited during play, it's all in good fun, and she's great at reading their cues. Michelle is a happy and mellow companion indoors, settling down nicely for naps after her outdoor adventures.
Ideal Home
Michelle would thrive in a home with another friendly dog. She has met children ages 8 and up and was very sweet, but due to her tendency to jump when excited, a home with kids 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens would be best. A securely fenced yard is a must as she can be an escape artist, though she would also do well in an apartment or urban setting with consistent exercise and enrichment.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy, spayed female.
Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained. She is very food motivated and a quick learner, but she can be a little sneaky with food, so she's fed separately. She responds well to redirection. Michelle walks fairly well on a leash but does tend to pull, so continued leash training will help her improve. She also loves to chew, especially on outdoor items, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
