Berta

Berta is a sweet 16 lb Terrier Mix who was born around 8/27/2014. She's up-to-date on all vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Berta can be a little reserved at first and prefers a calm environment. She's happiest when she can maintain her thicker coat, as she gets cold easily, and enjoys regular grooming. Berta is looking for a home where she can feel secure and understood.

Ideal Home

Berta would do best in a quiet home where she can be introduced to new things slowly. She is not a good fit for homes with children, cats, or small animals. While she can get along with some dogs, it's best if she's the only canine companion or with a very carefully selected doggy friend.

Ongoing Health

Berta has some minor gastrointestinal issues and requires a special diet.

Training & Support

Berta can be skittish around new people, places, loud noises, and fast movements, and may urinate when she gets scared. She needs slow introductions to everything and everyone. She also likes to vocalize and has a tendency to chew, so she'll need supervision and a watchful eye.

Berta is available to meet in San Diego by appointment only. We are currently unable to facilitate out-of-state adoptions.
