About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful mix of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, with a quirky charm that will keep you smiling. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she expresses her joy with adorable zoomies. She's deeply people-oriented, happily following her humans around and showing affection with gentle puppy kisses and a paw resting on your leg. Coraline has a remarkably calm temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion. She's social with people and other dogs, greeting new friends calmly before engaging in play. Coraline is the perfect blend of playful yet relaxed, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – a true best friend in the making.
Ideal Home
Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation. She loves leisurely walks, hikes, patio outings, and cozy evenings on the couch. A securely fenced yard is a must for her to play and sunbathe. Because she can get nervous in busy public areas, apartments and condos are not suitable due to potential noise disturbances. She absolutely needs to have another dog in her forever home as she thrives with canine companionship. She would also do well with older children and could acclimate to a home with a cat, provided the cat is dog-friendly and has prior experience with dogs. Her humans should be home more often than not, though doggy daycare a few days a week would be fine. She needs a family that will spend quality time with her and love her unconditionally.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained, sleeping soundly in her kennel at night, though she enjoys sleeping on a dog bed next to her foster mom's bed. She is still mastering leash training and will need additional practice to build confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a dog door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule. Using a doggy doorbell by the back door is recommended if there isn't a dog door.
