My name is Ellie, and I'm a beautiful girl inside and out with so much love to give! Since living with my foster mom, I've really started to blossom. I'm a curious soul who enjoys exploring, and I'm also a very well-behaved and house-trained companion. If I could spend my days snuggled on your lap, I'd be in heaven – add a cozy blanket, and I'm yours forever! I absolutely adore humans! My journey here wasn't easy; I was rescued by Save-A-Bull with a broken foot. While I'm a little protective of that foot, I now let my foster mom care for it, keeping my paws nice and soft. Thankfully, my foot is fully healed, and I love to run, jump, and zoomie in the yard, even in the snow! The only hint of my past injury is a bit of stiffness at night. I'm a smart cookie and know commands like sit, kennel, stay, wait, no, and shake!
Ideal Home
I would love a home where I can continue to grow and thrive. While I don't have experience with children, my foster mom believes I'd do well with older kids. My biggest needs are a patient approach to my interactions with other dogs and understanding when I need reassurance when you leave.
Ongoing Health
My fractured foot has fully healed. I may experience some stiffness at night due to my past injury.
Training & Support
I'm working on my reactions to other dogs when we are out on walks; I can become a bit anxious and bark. My foster mom uses a harness and slip leash for my safety, and with redirection and treats, we can continue our walk. If I'm having a tough time, we'll turn around and decompress. I love walks and would benefit from continued training in this area so I can fully enjoy exploring the world with you! I'm also working on crate training, as I don't love being left alone. This will take time as I adjust to a new home, but I promise I'm worth the effort!
