About Annie

Annie is a 1.5-year-old, 33 lb Lab mix with a heart full of love to give. She's a gentle soul who was rescued after a tough start in life, overcoming malnutrition, parasites, and an unfortunate encounter with a coatimundi. Now, Annie is a sweet, cuddly girl searching for her forever home. She's a bit shy at first, taking time to warm up and build trust, but once she does, she'll be your most devoted companion. Annie's favorite pastimes include snuggling on the couch, napping in your lap, and receiving belly rubs. She's looking for a patient guardian who will help her gain confidence and bloom into the loving dog she's meant to be.

Ideal Home

Annie would thrive in a calm, quiet home environment where she can feel safe and secure. Due to her fear of loud noises and busy streets, she'd do best in a more secluded neighborhood. She also needs a home that can accommodate her mobility needs; carpeted floors and a single-story living space or an apartment with an elevator are ideal as she has trouble with stairs and slick surfaces.

Ongoing Health

Annie walks with a slight limp due to an old injury from her puppy days that didn't heal properly. This affects her ability to navigate stairs and can make slick floors challenging for her.

Training & Support

Annie is potty and crate trained and does not exhibit destructive behaviors when left alone. While she is food motivated and has the potential to learn more obedience commands with patient training in a quiet setting, she is still a bit nervous outdoors. Introductions to new dogs should be slow and calm, ideally with an older, confident dog who understands her need for space. Young children will also need to be mindful of her shyness and give her time to adjust.
