Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, though she’s a bit shy! Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter in Houston, and she was the more reserved of the two. While her brother has already found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she has never shown any reactivity and simply looks for a safe place to hide when unsure. She is gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. With patience and trust-building, she begins to soften, enjoying toys, running with other dogs, and eventually seeking comfort with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken and loves her crate. She is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around children and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building.
