{{Pretzel is a big, lovable boy with a uniquely charming personality! His independently-minded ears are a constant source of amusement, and his perfectly patterned brindle coat and cartoon-like head tilt only add to his appeal. Pretzel is estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighs about 72 lbs, likely a bully mix, but as always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. He's a puppy at heart, eager, smart, and responsive, always looking to do the right thing. Pretzel is incredibly people-oriented and adoring, frequently checking in with his handler and leaning in for connection. He’s a sweet boy who wants nothing more than to please, especially when a treat is involved. He's a fast learner and has already mastered "sit"!

Ideal Home

Pretzel is a big 'ol puppy still learning the social ropes. He's enthusiastic and can get a bit mouthy and jumpy when excited, which will benefit from structure, redirection, and consistency. He pulls on leash when meeting new dogs and can be pushy with other dogs due to not understanding boundaries yet. He would do best with a medium-energy dog who can tolerate his learning curve and help teach him appropriate play. He has shown promising signs with cats and has been a perfect gentleman with our resident cat; a Kitty Committee Sleepover can be arranged for a more thorough understanding.

Training & Support

Pretzel is eager to learn and highly food motivated, making training both effective and fun. He knows "sit" and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and consistency to help him settle and make good choices. He will need a confident handler to help him with leash skills, as he can pull when excited. With clear corrections and guidance, he learns quickly and becomes a more calm walking companion.

Transportation

Pretzel is located in our Texas facility. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA certified transport system. Transport drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time and receive photo updates.
