Mocha

Hello there! I'm Mocha, and I'm a charming brindle pup with a coat full of adorable white markings, including a little white tip on my tail that likes to curl! My foster mom tells me I'm quite a looker. I just love being with my people and have also made a great friend in the other foster dog here. My favorite pastime is sticking close to my foster mom, whether it's following her around the house or curling up with her while she works.

I'm making great progress with potty training, and my canine housemate has been an excellent teacher! Although I'm still a puppy and need frequent potty breaks, I haven't had any accidents lately, and my foster mom is so proud of how quickly I'm catching on. I'm even starting to learn how to let her know when I need to go out.

Since I thrive on company, learning that my kennel is a safe space is a work in progress, but I'm getting better at settling in each day. I usually sleep in my kennel at night, but sometimes I get to snuggle with my foster mom after my early morning potty break – those extra hours of cuddles are pure bliss! I already know how to sit and play fetch, and I'm learning to "leave it" and walk nicely on a leash, though all the interesting smells can make it a bit of a challenge to walk in a straight line! I'm a smart cookie and pick things up quickly by watching the older foster dog, so I think obedience training would be a fantastic way for us to bond. I absolutely adore praise and will happily do tricks for treats!

I haven't met any children yet, but I'm sure I'd love them! As a young pup, I can be a bit mouthy, and my tiny puppy teeth are quite sharp. I share my home with a wonderful 2-year-old female foster dog who I look up to immensely. We have so much fun playing together, and I love when she lets me snuggle with her. I'm a playful and tenacious puppy. If we play too rough or I get too carried away, I know to be submissive with my foster sister, as I'm learning about boundaries. Chasing blowing leaves in the yard, playing with my foster sister, and fetching my favorite penguin ball are some of my absolute favorite activities! I'm also great at checking in with my foster mom as I explore the yard and bring the ball right back to her.

Ideal Home

I'd love an active family that will help channel my energy with activities like playing fetch and going for walks. I enjoy being around people and would do best with a family that is home often to help me with my crate training and take me out regularly.

Training & Support

I'm still learning to settle in my kennel and how to walk nicely on a leash. I am still mouthy, as expected for a puppy. I would benefit from continued obedience training.
