Meet Rio!

Rio is a beautiful young Shepherd mix, estimated to be born around May 1, 2025. She currently weighs about 30 pounds and is expected to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Rescued from an abandoned home in Texas, Rio has shown resilience, friendliness, and a gentle spirit. She's a quick learner, already crate trained and working on house training. Rio is great with other dogs and has been gentle and friendly with children. While she can be reserved at first, she is blossoming into an affectionate and loyal companion. Her fosters describe her as super smart and eager to please. Rio will make a wonderful companion for an active person or family looking for a bright, loving dog to share life's adventures with.

Ideal Home

Rio would love a canine companion to play and explore with, though this is not a requirement. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for both the pet and family.

Training & Support

Rio is doing wonderfully with her house training and is crate trained. She is also learning her leash manners. Her fosters say she's a quick learner and is even working on ringing a bell to signal when she needs to go outside.

Transportation

Rio is currently being fostered in Massachusetts and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue. She is available for out-of-area/out-of-state adoption.
