Meet Philip, a 50-pound Staffy mix with a fantastic flair for toy tossing and a heart full of snuggles! Philip is a champion at playtime and loves to show off his skills, especially after he conquers bath time like the superstar he is. He can be a little shy when you first meet him, but he's a big-hearted pup who is gaining confidence and finding his voice every day. Philip's leash manners are improving, and while he might occasionally try to lead the walk, he's easily redirected with a little patience.
Ideal Home
Philip is a social butterfly and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, having successfully socialized with pups his own size and even a Great Pyrenees puppy. He's also a fan of men and women, but he's still learning that raised hands are for gentle pets, not scary things. Given his past, he needs a home that understands he's sensitive to this and can show him that hands are for love. Philip has a moderate to high energy level, so he'll need daily exercise and mental stimulation like walks or puzzle toys. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for Philip and his new family.
Ongoing Health
Philip is a healthy boy with no ongoing health concerns mentioned.
Training & Support
Philip knows how to sit and is working on his impulse control when treats are involved, making great progress. He is crate-trained and does not dig. However, he has a strong love for his chew toys, so supervised play is a must. He needs a patient and understanding home to continue his journey as a work in progress.
