Meet Luca! This sweet 9-year-old, 12-pound Japanese Chin mix is a true survivor, rescued from a puppy mill in Taiwan. Despite his past, Luca is a friendly and playful boy who adores people. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, though he'd prefer a home without young children under 12. Luca enjoys gentle walks and loves to explore off-leash in safe areas. He's not a barker, except when he's excited about food. Luca has no chewing or possessiveness issues.
Ideal Home
Luca would thrive in a patient and understanding home with experienced dog owners. A quieter environment with fewer young children (under 12) would be ideal. He prefers a home where he won't be left alone for long periods, ideally less than 6 hours. He also needs a family that is comfortable with his housetraining needs and the associated costs for diapers, as he struggles with accidents indoors.
Ongoing Health
Luca has a mild case of dry eye in his remaining right eye, which requires occasional moisturizing eye drops. He is up-to-date on all his vaccines, has had a good blood panel, is neutered, and receives dental cleaning annually in October.
Training & Support
Luca is not currently house-trained, and while efforts have been made, he continues to have accidents indoors. He is comfortable wearing diapers to manage this. He is not a barker, except when excited about food. He has no chewing or possessive issues.

Luca is currently in a foster home in Vancouver, B.C. He is only available for adoption within the Lower Mainland, B.C.
