Meet Rusty!
Rusty is a 2-year-old, 50 lb Cattle Dog mix with a gentle soul, a playful side, and so much potential just waiting to bloom. Rusty didn't have the easiest start in life and can be a little shy in new situations, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet, silly boy who is making incredible progress every day. Watching him open up, wag his tail, play with toys, and start trusting people is something really special. He loves playing with other dogs and would especially enjoy a home with a confident dog friend to help show him the ropes. He enjoys puzzle toys, chew toys, chicken treats, and the occasional Squishmallow, and he's discovering how fun life can be.
Ideal Home
Rusty can be timid with new people and unfamiliar environments, but he responds with avoidance rather than aggression and continues to gain confidence with patience and positive reinforcement. He would do best with older, dog-savvy children who can go slow and give him time to warm up. An active but patient home that understands shy dogs and lets him settle in at his own pace would help him thrive.

Training & Support
Rusty is making incredible progress every day. He has already made huge strides with leash walking, crate training, and potty training, and he's a quick learner. He walks nicely on leash. Rusty may start out a little reserved, but once he trusts you, you get to see the goofy, loving dog underneath, and he is absolutely worth it.
