About Cash
Hi, my name is Cash. I’m a good boy with a few specific needs, but I promise I’m worth it. I’ve had a bit of a past, though it wasn’t entirely my fault — I just wasn’t given the chance to be a dog. What I really need now is a home with structure and someone who can be firm but fair with me. I prefer having my people all to myself, so no kids or other dogs, please.
I love spending time inside where it’s cozy, but I also enjoy going on outdoor adventures when I can. In my previous home, I spent most of my days in a crate and was only let out for a few minutes at a time. That kind of life just didn’t let me thrive. Here at the shelter, I’ve learned what a routine feels like, and let me tell you — I love it. In the mornings, I wait patiently and sit before the staff opens my kennel to go outside. When I come back in, I sit again before going in for my favorite part — a good chew that I like to stash on my bed before breakfast. After about 30 minutes of relaxing and chewing, I let the staff know it’s potty time again, and we repeat the process. Once that’s done, I curl up for a long nap and dream about the day I’ll get to do all of this in a real home, maybe on a soft couch instead of my shelter bed. I also love food — seriously, it’s one of my favorite things in life. The staff say I’d do best with lots of food enrichment, like frozen meals or training treats that make me work for my rewards. A regular food bowl is fine too, but I’m happiest when I get to use my brain along with my belly. When it’s playtime, I’m all about fluffy toys that squeak or squawk — I’ll chase them all around the yard! The staff always laugh about my adorable little ears, especially since they look small on my big head. And when I get really excited, they stand halfway up — which, apparently, is pretty cute because it always makes everyone smile. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who appreciates structure, routine, and a good mix of play and enrichment, I’m your guy — Cash.
