We are looking for compassionate individuals to open their homes and hearts to pups rescued from India. These adorable dogs, often referred to as "Indian Native" or "Desi" dogs, are a primitive breed with incredible resilience and intelligence. They have a rich history, dating back thousands of years, and are known for their hardiness, adaptability, and loving nature. Many of these dogs have faced difficult lives on the streets, and we are dedicated to giving them a chance at a comfortable and safe life as cherished family pets. We have successfully placed over 100 of these wonderful dogs in loving homes across the U.S. and Canada, and we're excited to continue our mission.
Ideal Home
We are seeking committed foster homes in New Jersey for pups who will provide them with love and care until their forever families are found. We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to accompany these pups on their journey from India to the U.S. This significantly reduces transportation costs and is a huge help to our organization.
Ongoing Health
Indian Native dogs are known for their robust health and strong immune systems. They are genetically healthy with no known breed-specific genetic diseases. They are low-maintenance in terms of grooming, with a short, smooth coat that sheds minimally and little to no "doggy odor."
Training & Support
These intelligent dogs are quick learners and respond best to gentle, consistent, and firm training methods. Harsh correction is not recommended. They are known to be calm and gentle, especially around children, and form strong bonds with their families. While they are alert and can be good watchdogs, they are not excessive barkers. They have high stamina and require an active lifestyle with daily walks or runs.
