Mindy is a sweet, laid-back, and affectionate female hound dog who loves to explore the world with her nose! She's friendly with everyone she meets on her walks, whether they have two legs or four. Mindy enjoys a good stroll and will often check back in with her walker for some ear scratches and affection. She's intelligent and eager to please, though she does have a strong instinct to chase after rabbits and foxes when she spots them. Mindy's vocalizations are more of a hound's bay than a bark, and she can get a bit loud when excited, but she calms down quickly. She's a smart cookie who would benefit from an adopter who can provide consistent training and verbal commands. Mindy is an affectionate companion who is sure to bring a lot of joy into your life.
Ideal Home
Mindy would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. Because she has a strong prey drive, a fenced yard is a must. Electric fences are not accepted.
Ongoing Health
Mindy has been microchipped, tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Lyme disease, and is up-to-date on all her vaccinations. She is also on year-round heartworm medication and has been wormed.
Training & Support
Mindy is intelligent and would benefit from an adopter who can provide consistent training with verbal commands and hand signals. While she ignores squirrels, she will chase rabbits and foxes, so an adopter should be prepared for this instinct. Her baying can be loud when excited but she calms down quickly.
