Victoria is a sweet and grateful Husky mix who was rescued from a life on the streets in Saltillo, Mexico. She's approximately 5 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. Victoria was found hungry, tired, and thirsty, but after being brought into rescue, she has blossomed into a confident and loving companion. Despite experiencing severe malnutrition, which resulted in the loss of most of her teeth, she is now healthy and has gained weight. She's very sociable, noble with people, and enjoys a good rub. Victoria is loyal, affectionate, and loves to cuddle, often showing off her beautiful smile. She is crate and leash trained.
Ideal Home
Victoria would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard. She would do best in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, long walks, or running. Families with an understanding of the needs of rescued animals, and who have experience with dog behavior and training, would be ideal. She needs a patient home that understands she is not house-trained and requires guidance and education.
Ongoing Health
Victoria is missing most of her teeth due to severe malnutrition, with only three molars remaining. She has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She receives monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (NexGard Spectra).
Training & Support
Victoria is crate and leash trained. She needs to eat in her crate to prevent food-guarding behaviors and potential conflicts with other pets. She is not house-trained, and her new family will need to be patient and consistent with potty training. Her rescuers emphasize that they invest heavily in the health and emotional rehabilitation of their rescues, and it's a significant undertaking that often leaves them unable to complete house-training for every animal.
