Annie

Annie is a sweet, spunky 4-month-old Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup weighing 8 lbs. She's estimated to be around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate, loving, and adores being doted on. She's naturally curious, observant, and confident, always eager to investigate new things. Annie is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and dog friends, making her a perfect pup for an active family that enjoys involving their furry companions in everyday life. Her laid-back demeanor allows her to adapt easily to different environments and enjoy fun family adventures. Whether playing with other dogs, cuddling, or chasing toys in the yard, Annie is always happy as long as she's with her humans. She can be active and playful when it's time for fun, but also mellow and relaxed for couch snuggles. Annie is also great at entertaining herself, keeping busy with toys or napping until it's time to play. Her adaptable personality means she'd fit beautifully into a variety of homes. While she enjoys canine companionship, she's also content entertaining herself with toys. Annie has the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and cuddly affection. She enjoys running, playing, and exploring, but also loves spending time with her people and soaking up cuddles. Her ideal home would have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and she'd be thrilled to receive a subscription box for new surprises, especially as she starts teething. As she masters leash skills, she'll be excited for adventures beyond the backyard, like neighborhood walks or exploring nature trails. She enjoys hiking, splashing near water, and strolling through town. Annie is dog, cat, and kid-friendly and has experience with dogs of various sizes. She'd be a wonderful addition to a home with another playful dog, or she'd thrive as the center of attention in a home where she receives ample love and interaction. If she's the only dog, she'd benefit from frequent playdates or doggy daycare to continue positive interactions. Public dog parks are not recommended due to the risk of illness or negative interactions. She would love fun outings around town or visits to Sniff Spots for enrichment and exercise. Ideally, her human works from home or has a hybrid schedule, but if not, a dog walker or doggy daycare is recommended for days longer than 8 hours without playtime and potty breaks.

Training & Support

Annie is kennel trained and potty trained. She sleeps in her kennel at night without issue and will nap in it with the door open during the day. She loves going on outings in her doggy pouch. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills. She alerts her foster family that she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell to help her learn to notify you when she needs to go outside. She needs a consistent schedule and to be taken out every few hours initially until she adjusts to a new environment, but she is a quick learner and will adapt quickly to a new routine. She would love a family that is home more often than not, but if her humans work outside the home, a midday dog walker or doggy daycare is recommended.

Transportation

Annie is currently located in a foster home and can be transported to various cities and states. You can find a list of transport locations at wags.com. Transport occurs monthly, and adoptive families will need to meet the transport to pick up their new family member. Please note that dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to transport, and we cannot accommodate typical meet-and-greet situations due to the extensive transport distances.
