Meet Juice (also known as Joey by his foster family), a charming 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with eyes that speak volumes and a heart yearning for security. He's a sweet boy who's navigated through a lot and is now dreaming of a peaceful, loving home to call his own. Juice is a cuddler who cherishes his toys, but his absolute favorite pastime is simply being near his person, often resting his head and paw on your arm as a gentle sign of affection. He can be a bit shy and hesitant with new faces initially; slow and tender introductions are key to building his trust. Once he feels safe, he blossoms into a deeply loyal and devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home environment with soft-spoken, patient adults who understand that healing requires time and understanding. A home without cats is a must, as he has a tendency to chase them. He would be happiest as the only dog in the household, allowing him to receive all the attention and affection.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression specifically with other dogs. With a stable routine, he has made great progress and now eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, but this can be easily managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is currently working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness, as harsh corrections can make him fearful. He is always crated when left alone due to a love for chewing, and he sleeps well in his crate overnight. He has experienced some potty accidents, but is working on this. Juice does great in the car and is always ready for a ride, though he may need a little help getting in.
