Loki is a brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs around 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and littermates and has grown up loved and cared for. Loki is the fearless ringleader of his pack, always the first to investigate new things and announcing his presence with confidence. He's an expert climber, loves playing keep-away with his toys, and has a habit of initiating playtime.
Loki is potty trained and is starting to settle into being an incredible companion. He can be a little hesitant with new experiences but quickly overcomes it. He loves food, cuddles, people, and other dogs. He recently attended a community event and happily greeted adults and children, bringing joy wherever he goes. Loki is goofy, affectionate, playful, and loving. He has some crate experience and has been around children, but has not been tested with cats. He is still practicing his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Loki is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't currently have a resident dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. Because Loki is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained, but a few accidents should be expected as he adjusts to a new routine. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is also very important for Loki. Structured training classes, supervised daycare, regular playdates with trusted dogs, and other safe, positive experiences are all wonderful ways to help set Loki up for success.
