Meet Chewy and Muffin, two adorable Shih Tzu mixes who have spent years together and are hoping to find a loving home where they can stay side by side. They are in need of a new home because their elderly owner can no longer care for them.
Chewy is a 7-year-old bundle of personality weighing around 6 pounds. He absolutely loves treats, attention, and being close to his people. Cheerful and energetic, Chewy is always ready to make sure he gets his share of affectionand maybe a little extra! While he enjoys cuddles and pets, he prefers keeping all four paws on the ground and isn't a fan of being carried.
Muffin is a gentle 9-year-old sweetheart weighing about 10 pounds. She can be a little shy at first and prefers to take her time getting comfortable with new people and situations. When she feels safe, her playful side shines through! She loves playing fetch, exploring the outdoors, and showing off commands like sit and lay down. Muffin is happiest with patient, understanding people who will let her build trust at her own pace.
Together, Chewy and Muffin make the perfect pair. They clearly enjoy each others company and have formed a strong bond over the years. They provide comfort, companionship, and confidence to one another, and we would love to see them adopted together.
Ideal Home
Chewy and Muffin would love a home with more access to the outdoors. They have generally done well with children ages 8 and older. Their reactions to other dogs and animals are somewhat unknown.
Ongoing Health
Both dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, have tested negative for heartworm, and have been spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Training & Support
Both dogs are pad-trained and have also done well going potty outside. They are smart, loving dogs who have learned commands in the past and would likely continue to thrive with gentle guidance, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement. They are good alert watch dogs and bark when people walk past the house or ring the doorbell, but they have never shown aggression toward people.
