Country (approximately 6.5 pounds) & his sisters Opera & Yodel were transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. These pups are believed to be Cattle Dog mixes and they act the part! Country is insanely smart, very alert, and loves to herd the other puppies during puppy play groups. Adopters should be prepared for a dog that needs lots of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. Cattle Dogs are a working breed and as such, they always want a job to do. They are also known for attempting to herd people, especially children, so if you have kids in the family, be sure that you're OK with a dog that nips at people in an attempt to get them to go to the dog's desired area. It's not naughtiness, it's what Cattle Dogs are born to do! We suspect that Country will be 34-40 pounds when full grown, but this is not an exact science, so please take the estimate with a grain of salt.
