Meet Norman!

Norman is a snuggly, four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs 73 pounds. He's known as the "velvet hippo" for his gentle, goofy nature and his love for cuddles. Norman enjoys comfy dog beds, quality time with his people, and is quite the couch potato with a silly streak – he loves to flop onto his back for an adorable grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs are high on his list of favorites. He thrives with love and structure, and while his routine is flexible, he's happiest when napping near his people and getting a little mental stimulation each day. Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows commands like "sit," "stay," "down," and "place," and he's working on "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency.

Ideal Home

Norman does best in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He is not suitable for homes with small children. He can be compatible with older, respectful children and some dogs, provided slow introductions are made.

Norman is healthy and has no ongoing health conditions to report.

Training & Support

Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands. He is working on mastering "leave it." He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency. Norman's adoption includes four professional training sessions and a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to help him settle into his new home. While Norman has had a bite incident in a specific circumstance, those familiar with him describe it as an accident and not reflective of his true nature. Continued obedience training and positive reinforcement will help him stay confident on walks.
