Aranza

Aranza is a charming 4-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing around 14 lbs, who is longing for her forever family. She was rescued in November 2023, found wandering alone in Matamoros, Mexico. When she arrived, she was underweight and suffering from scabies, but with dedicated veterinary care, good food, and plenty of love from her foster family, Aranza has made a remarkable recovery. She is now a happy, healthy, and affectionate little girl with a sweet and gentle personality. Aranza is docile, playful, and loves nothing more than to cuddle and snuggle. She forms deep bonds and enjoys being close to her people. She is also great with children and friendly with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for many families. Aranza enjoys walks, exploring her surroundings, and travels calmly in the car. After all she has endured, Aranza deserves a home that offers the safety, love, and stability she never had, and in return, she will offer boundless loyalty, affection, and companionship.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be ideal for Aranza. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an understanding of the needs of rescued street animals, including their need for protection and education. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are preferred. High tolerance and patience for rescued animals are essential. Aranza is not house-trained, which requires understanding and effort from her new family.

Ongoing Health

Aranza is up-to-date on her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She has a spay/neuter certificate and a health certificate.

Training & Support

Aranza is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency to help her learn. Her past experiences may have left her with fears and anxieties, so she will need time to adjust to a new environment and people. Building trust through patience and understanding will be crucial.

• Fill out our adoption form.
• Provide photos/videos of your home to ensure it's a safe place for your future furry friend.
• If it's a potential match, we will arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transportation

Aranza is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery. Transportation is available through scheduled trips (3-4 times a year with 15-20 adoptions per trip) organized by our contracted transport company based in Montana. The transport fee is $400 USD. Pets will be escorted across the border into Texas for US adoptions or delivered to the US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions, with all necessary USDA health certificates and legal documents. Adopters will be added to a private Facebook Messenger group for real-time updates on the pet's journey.
