Buddy Jr.

Buddy Jr. is an 8-year-old, approximately 9-pound long-haired Chihuahua who had his whole world turned upside down. He was adopted from us in November 2018 and was a cherished pet for seven years. Unfortunately, his beloved home recently welcomed two toddlers, and the increased activity and noise have made Buddy Jr. nervous and scared, leading to him snapping. His family tried to make it work for five years, but it became too difficult to manage everyone's needs. This was a heart-wrenching decision for them, and now Buddy Jr. is looking for a patient person to help him adjust to a quieter life.

Ideal Home

Buddy Jr. would thrive in a calm household. He is looking for a home without young children, as they overwhelm him. A fenced-in yard is required for his safety and enjoyment.

Ongoing Health

Buddy Jr. is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. He is heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Buddy Jr. is house-trained and kennel-trained. He walks well on a leash and is accustomed to riding in cars, often on his owner's lap. While he can be shy and timid with new people, once he trusts you, he becomes an affectionate lap dog who loves to be close to his person. He can be initially intimidated by new dogs but warms up once he knows they are not a threat. He gets along with dogs of all sizes in his foster home but prefers companions his own size.

Transportation

Buddy Jr. is currently in a foster home in the Memphis Area (Tennessee/Arkansas/Mississippi), primarily in Red Banks, MS, or Bartlett, TN. We prefer to adopt within a 1-2 hour driving distance of the Mid-South area. Transport may be available depending on the foster's willingness to drive.
