About Xyla

I may be retired from motherhood, but I'm just getting started on the best chapter of my life.

Hi! I'm Xyla, a 5-year-old red Golden Retriever, former professional mama and current full-time sweetheart. After raising puppies, I'm finally learning what it's like to just be a dog and let me tell you...I highly recommend this "being spoiled" lifestyle. I can be a little shy when we first meet because I'm still learning that people can be wonderful, but once you've earned my trust, prepare yourself, I fully expect belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles, and compliments about how beautiful I am. I was born to be someone's favorite. Speaking of favorites...I'd really prefer to be yours. I get along well with other dogs but if I'm being honest, I'd much rather be the star of the show. Why share the spotlight when it could all shine on me?

Ideal Home

Xyla would prefer to be the star of the show and not have to share the spotlight. She enjoys being near her people and is happy to nap in her crate or another cozy spot while her family goes about their day.

Ongoing Health

Xyla is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccines, and current on her preventatives. She has been on a healthy lifestyle journey since arriving in rescue to address some extra weight she was carrying.

Training & Support

Xyla is learning to walk on a leash and may sit down if she decides she's walked far enough. She is working on her potty training and has started waiting at the door to indicate she needs to go outside, but may have a few accidents as she settles into a new home. Xyla is described as a "picky eater" with high standards for her food.
