Meet Horacio! This sweet Chihuahua mix is about 2-3 years old and weighs around 16 lbs. Horacio's journey began with hardship; he was found tied up, neglected, and mistreated. Thankfully, those dark days are far behind him! Now, Horacio is learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cherished. He's a gentle and affectionate boy who adores car rides, loves being around people, and is always ready to share his kisses. Horacio has a playful spirit but is generally calm and easygoing, making him the ideal companion for someone seeking both love and tranquility. He enjoys short bursts of play followed by relaxing with his trusted humans. Despite his past, Horacio's heart is overflowing with love. He's ready for a forever home where he'll only experience kindness, care, and affection, and his adopters will gain a loyal and grateful companion.
Ideal Home
Horacio would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a tall, fenced backyard. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, or a willingness to hire a trainer is a must. High tolerance and patience are crucial for this intelligent dog.
Ongoing Health
Horacio is up-to-date on his health protocols, which include a Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI Vaccines, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX Test and Certificate, a Heartworm Negative Certificate, and monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra. He also comes with a Health Certificate and a Vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Please be aware that Horacio is not house-trained. As with many rescued dogs, he may require an adjustment period and significant patience and understanding to build trust and adapt to a new environment. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will be key to his success.
