Sonoran

When you first meet Sonoran, you'd have no idea this sweet, energetic pup had a rough start to life. He came from a hoarding situation, battled parvo, and ended up on the euthanasia list alongside 5 other puppies. Thankfully, they all joined our LTA family, and these little fighters beat the odds! Now, he's ready for his next big chapter: HOME.

Sonoran and his siblings were raised together, and each one has their own unique personality. Sonoran, like his siblings, shares the traits of a herding breed: he's sharp, driven, playful, and always ready for something to do! He has a high food drive and high toy drive, which makes him incredibly fun to train and engage with as he continues to build on his obedience training. Sonoran is a loving, confident, and playful pup who approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Ideal Home

Sonoran will absolutely thrive with continued structure, consistency, and plenty of outlets for his mental and physical energy. He would excel in trick training, dog sports, hiking, jogging, you name it! Herding breed experience is a big plus for his new family. As a puppy, continued socialization is important, and he would also benefit from a confident resident dog (though not a requirement).

Ongoing Health

Sonoran is a survivor who has overcome parvo! LTA does not sterilize puppies until they are at least 6 months old. Until then, puppies are available for foster-to-adopt, with adoption finalized after surgery.

Training & Support

Sonoran is eager to please and highly motivated by both food and toys, making him a joy to train. Continued socialization as a puppy is important, and he'd also benefit from the guidance of a confident resident dog.
