Meet Pitch! He's a happy, fun-loving 3-year-old, approximately 20-pound pup who is ready to find his perfect match. Pitch is a joy to be around, with a playful spirit and an affectionate nature. He enjoys belly rubs, butt scratches, and will happily entertain himself with his favorite toys, especially the small ones he can proudly carry around. He's a great fetch player, though sometimes the return is optional, and he's an excellent hiking companion, walking well on a leash with great stamina for any outdoor adventure. Pitch also rides well in the car.
Ideal Home
Pitch is great with dogs of all sizes and eats and sleeps comfortably in his crate. He loves attention but is also content to do his own thing. While he's working on not marking indoors and is doing great with his belly band, he is sensitive to being lifted and needs time to get to know new people. Due to his strong attachment to "treasures" like trash, he needs close supervision and an experienced handler. He may snap or bite if items are forcibly taken from his mouth, so careful management and positive trade techniques are essential. Pitch is strong-willed and expressive, and will thrive with a confident, experienced owner who can set clear boundaries and build a respectful, trust-based relationship.
Ongoing Health
Pitch is up-to-date on vaccinations and is microchipped. He will need regular brushing and grooming to keep his coat looking its best.
Training & Support
Pitch is working hard on not marking indoors and is doing well with his belly band. He can be a bit sassy when asked to come inside or trade the couch for his crate, but with a confident owner who sets clear boundaries, he will thrive. Positive trade techniques are essential for managing his tendency to guard items he finds.

Pitch is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. We adopt within a 350-mile radius of Fredericksburg, VA, with a $50 out-of-state fee. Adoption events are held throughout our community; please see our Upcoming Events page for dates and locations.
