Zoey

Meet Zoey, a beautiful American Akita with a strong personality. Zoey isn't one to offer immediate friendship or welcome belly rubs; she requires a bit of time and space to warm up to new people. However, consistent care, such as providing her meals and taking her on daily walks, will earn her trust and allow her loving and protective nature to shine through. She was unfortunately abandoned by backyard breeders and found herself in a kill shelter in North Carolina. Zoey is looking for a patient and experienced owner who understands the Akita breed.

Ideal Home

Zoey would thrive in a home with an owner who is experienced with the American Akita breed and can provide her with the space and respect she needs to build trust.

Ongoing Health

Zoey will be fully vetted before leaving our rescue.

Training & Support

While Zoey is house-trained, she is not food-motivated. Building a strong bond with her will come through consistent care and respecting her boundaries.

Transporation

Zoey is currently located in Greensboro, NC. Transportation to the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast is included in the adoption fee. She will be personally delivered by her rescuer to ensure a smooth transition to her new home.
