Meet Lexi! She's a sweet and loving 3-year-old, 11-pound Shih Tzu who has blossomed into a confident and affectionate girl after a difficult start in life. Lexi came from a breeder that was shut down, and she had very little exposure to the world outside of living with many other dogs. Now, she's a social butterfly with her trusted people, enjoys playtime, and loves to be close to her favorite humans. Watching her transformation from a shy pup to one who greets her family with excitement has been truly heartwarming.
Ideal Home
Lexi is looking for a calm home environment. She does best with adults or older, dog-savvy children who understand that building trust takes time. She thrives with routine, consistency, and gentle encouragement. Lexi requires a securely fenced physical yard for her safety, as she is still building confidence with the world beyond her backyard. She is not a candidate for tethering or invisible fencing.
Ongoing Health
Lexi is current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations, has been dewormed, tested negative for heartworm, and is receiving heartworm and flea prevention. She has also been microchipped and spayed. As a Shih Tzu, Lexi will require regular grooming to maintain her coat's health and comfort.
Training & Support
Lexi can still be a little reserved when meeting new people or in unfamiliar environments. She appreciates being given space to approach new situations at her own pace and does best with patient introductions. Once she feels safe, her loving personality quickly emerges. She enjoys having other dogs around and also seems to do well with cats. Lexi has demonstrated good house manners and has embraced the comforts of home life.
