After a tough start in Texas, where he was hit by a car and had to have a leg amputated, Benson has learned that humans can be a source of comfort and good things, like treats and a cool place to rest. He's a gentle soul who enjoys quiet companionship.

Ideal Home

Benson would thrive in a calm, low-traffic home. He'd do best with children over 12 who understand how to respect a dog's space. Loud, boisterous environments would be too overwhelming for him. He's also a tripod, so a home with minimal stairs would be ideal for his long-term comfort, though he navigates his world with ease.

Benson is potty trained and a perfect gentleman during car rides and vet visits. He's not a dog who needs constant attention; he's happiest observing from the same room and enjoying your presence without demanding to be the center of attention.
