About Tamera Honey The Sweetest Family Dog
If your dream dog is the kind that can't get close enough to you, the kind who melts into every pet, leans in for more, and turns affection into her full-time job... Tamera Honey is about to be your girl. She has that big, over-the-top, all-in kind of love that Shepherd people know and hope for. The kind that makes you laugh, makes you feel wanted, and somehow makes every interaction feel like the best part of her day. Tamera Honey is not only incredibly sweet, but she is also amazing with kids, dog friendly, respectful around cats, smart, and the list can go on and on. She's a special one, no doubt about that.
Tamera Honey is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, approximately 12 years old and currently weighs 58 lbs. While we can't guarantee age or breed due to her rescue background, her looks suggest some GSD in her DNA. We'd love to find adopters with some GSD experience who understand their fun, independent spirit and are ready for a loving, adventurous companion.
Ideal Home
Tamera would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, a little adventure, and a whole lot of affection. She'd be the first one at the door greeting guests and will be happiest by your side on a quiet day at home. She would make an amazing adventure buddy, perfect for exploring parks, nature trails, or visiting local spots. A home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs and hang out alongside you would be ideal. Apartment living won't be a good fit for her. Tamera is great with children and has been around kids as young as 7, displaying gentleness, patience, and a natural understanding of their space. She's the type of dog who instinctively fits into family life.

Training & Support
Tamera is a smart girl, eager to please and treat motivated. She already knows many tricks including sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak! She walks fairly nicely on a leash, occasionally pulling out of excitement but responds well to gentle reminders. She is also comfortable tandem walking with other dogs. Tamera is crate trained and potty trained. With consistency and positive reinforcement, any additional training will be a fun and rewarding experience. Tamera prefers slightly slower introductions with other dogs before jumping into playtime. She's more of a "bounce-around, run-alongside-her-friends" type of player rather than constant wrestling and will give a subtle, respectful correction if play becomes too rough. She would do best with a moderately playful dog who enjoys a balance of playtime and downtime, but she doesn't require a canine companion to be fulfilled. She was respectful and not bothered by a resident cat during introductions, showing all the right signs. We can arrange a meet-and-greet or sleepover with your cat to ensure a good fit.
