Meet Loki — the sweetest girl looking for a patient and loving forever home. Loki may have had a tough start in life, rescued from MCACC after being found as a stray, but you’d never know it from her joyful personality. Since joining her foster family, she has shown nothing but sweetness, loyalty, and a whole lot of love. She has been a companion for the family’s older pitbull, who has since found a new forever home, for the last several years. Loki is full of life—she loves to play fetch/tug-a-war, eat treats, chew on her toys, and be right in the middle of the fun. Chew toys are an absolute MUST for this girl. The more indestructible, the better. They help keep her calm, happy, and out of mischief. She is great and calm during car rides and at the vet office with staff. She is also great on a leash and walks well alongside you, but she can become reactive when she sees another dog. Her foster family is actively working on this using positive reinforcement and treat-based training, and she’s already making steady progress. At home, Loki is housebroken, loves to lounge around, and does wonderfully with loud noises. She is not crate trained. Loki can get excited and forget her size, sometimes trying to hop up for attention or curl into your lap like she’s a tiny lap dog. With people, she is incredibly loving and gentle—no aggression, no hesitation, just pure affection. The way she looks at you with her big smile and icy blue eyes could brighten anyone’s day.
Ideal Home
A home that keeps tempting items out of reach and provides plenty of durable toys would be ideal. Loki is best suited for a home without cats or small dogs. New large dogs should be introduced slowly and preferably with calm, even-tempered, non-reactive personalities. A home without small children or elderly individuals is recommended due to her size and enthusiasm.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Her forever home should be patient, committed to continuing her training, and comfortable helping her work through her reactivity with consistency, structure, and kindness. She is not crate trained.
