Tony

Tony is a 4-year-old Spaniel/Great Pyrenees mix who is knee-high and 62 pounds of pudge. He's a shy and timid boy who is still learning to navigate the world around him, but he's curious enough to peek out and explore before retreating to safety. Tony was a COVID puppy and didn't have much early socialization, so people, dogs, and cats are all still a bit of a puzzle to him. He's making progress, though, and is slowly learning to interact with others. He would likely do well with a calm, mellow dog companion but would prefer to avoid any bouncy, high-energy pups. Tony is a little scared of cats but not in a way that causes him to be aggressive; he tends to retreat when they hiss.

Ideal Home

Tony is looking for a quiet home with a fenced yard where he can feel safe and comfortable. He would do best in a home with teenagers and older, as younger children can be a bit too unpredictable for him. His dream home would include a comfy sofa for him to snuggle up on next to his people for pets and snacks.

Training & Support

Tony is a shy boy who needs a patient and kind adopter who will allow him to blossom at his own pace. With your help, Tony will reward you with gentle companionship and will gradually become more confident.

Tony is located at our rescue in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. We can provide transport to our approved adopters up to a certain distance.
