Rio is a sweet and adventurous pup who was rescued from a euthanasia list along with his siblings. He's been enjoying life in a cozy foster home and is now ready for his big journey North to find his forever family! Rio is the biggest of his siblings and often acts like the leader of the bunch. He loves a good game of tug and chase, but he also knows when it's time to settle down and can rest in his kennel. He's relatively calm for a puppy and young, so he has plenty of room to grow and learn about new things.

Ideal Home

Rio would love another dog in his home, but he has not yet met cats or children.

Ongoing Health

As a rescue puppy, Rio may require further veterinary care after arriving in Minnesota.

Training & Support

Rio will need a patient person to help him learn and grow. He will also need someone willing to continue working on his housetraining and basic manners.

Transporation

Rio is arriving in Minnesota on 7/11/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between 9 am and noon. You must be able to pick him up during this time. He is available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Once he is in Minnesota, you will be required to transport him to and from vetting appointments at the veterinary suite in Princeton, MN.
