My name is Koda, and I'm a 5-year-old, 27-pound guy who's ready to find my forever home! I came to SIRA from a commercial breeding facility where I needed some medical attention. First, I tackled heartworm treatment like a champ, being a super good boy even though the medicine wasn't the tastiest. Then, it was time for my knee surgery to fix a luxating patella. This meant more quiet time, but my foster mom says I handled it all with patience and grace. Now that I'm healed and pain-free, I absolutely love to run and play with other dogs, and I've discovered a talent for tossing my toys around indoors! While I can be a bit shy with new people and loud noises due to my past, once I get to know you, my silly and affectionate personality shines through. I especially love a good pet and a tasty piece of cheese – the fancier, the better! I'm a good boy in the house, fully potty trained and not destructive. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, even the rambunctious puppies, and I don't mind cats at all, leaving them to their own devices. I've also had positive interactions with children. I'm a pretty easy-going fellow, though I must admit, baths aren't my favorite!
Ideal Home
My perfect home would have patient humans who understand I may be a little shy at first. A resident dog would be fantastic, as they can help me learn and be a great friend. A securely fenced yard would be a dream, but I can also do well on leash with a little practice.
Ongoing Health
I've completed my heartworm treatment and my knee surgery. I'm neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
I'm house-trained and not destructive. I'm generally good with other animals and children. My only "quirk" is my dislike for baths.
