Miss Poppy is a wonderfully sweet 1-year-old, 53 lb tri-color Hound mix who is always up for an adventure! She was found as a puppy abandoned at a gas station, but sadly the family who found her couldn't keep her as she grew. Miss Poppy loves meeting new people, though she does tend to jump up a bit when excited. She's also a big fan of fetch, even if she hasn't quite mastered the "bring it back" part yet! She's a smart pup and knows what's appropriate to chew on, happily opting for her basket of beef bones and toys instead of household items. Miss Poppy is house-trained and crate-trained, and will even go into her crate for meals. She barks when she needs to go outside to potty, and while she sleeps well in her crate, she's also happy to nap on the couch.
Ideal Home
Miss Poppy would thrive in a home with a yard where she can play. She prefers dogs that are around her size or larger, as she enjoys playful, active companions. She is not a good fit for an apartment due to her energy level. Miss Poppy is not comfortable around small, yappy dogs and they make her anxious.

Miss Poppy has been spayed.
Training & Support
Miss Poppy is learning to walk nicely on a leash, but it's an area that needs a little more work. While she's still perfecting fetch, she's already got a good grasp on what's okay to chew.

Transportation
Miss Poppy is currently located in Alabama. She will travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. Meet & greets for dogs in Ontario will only be arranged once an adoption application is approved.
