Charlie is a charming American Bully mix who will be 4 years old in November. She weighs around 60 lbs and is a true gem! Charlie came to us from a breeder surrender in 2021 and, after a loving stint in a foster home, is now seeking her forever family due to life changes with her previous adopters. She's affectionate, comical, and incredibly fun to be around, but she's ready for a home where she can truly thrive. Charlie can be a bit wary of new people, especially loud, boisterous men, likely stemming from past experiences. However, she has made tremendous progress in overcoming her initial unsocialized and "stranger danger" tendencies. She's an absolute sweetheart who deserves a family that appreciates her bully breed charm.
Ideal Home
Charlie needs a home with a fenced-in yard where she can safely enjoy her zoomies. Due to her interactions with other dogs in her foster home, she can get easily overwhelmed and does not tolerate assertive or dominant behavior. For this reason, we are not comfortable placing Charlie into a home with other dogs at this time. She does well with the resident Yorkie and other dogs in passing, but her comfort level in a multi-dog household is a concern. She is good with children aged 8 and up, as she can be a bit of a "big baby" and needs kids who understand to give her space as she adjusts.

Charlie has no known medical needs.
Training & Support
Charlie is housebroken, provided she is kept on a regular schedule. She is also crate trained and loves her crate, often using it as a relaxing den with the door open. While she rides well in the car, she should be tethered to prevent her from climbing around. On a leash, she does well with a prong collar but tends to weave and pull without one, especially if excited by something. Charlie has a unique energy level – she's either a 2 or a 10! She can be a couch potato most of the time, but when she gets going, she's a zoomie expert who might not pay attention to your knees. She is good with cats but will pounce and chase them for fun; she is easily redirected from this behavior.
