About Steph

Hi there! I'm Steph, a playful and affectionate 7-month-old Shepherd mix who's currently weighing in at about 33 pounds. I'm expected to grow into a robust 60-70 pound adult. I have a boundless love for running and exploring, and I'm always eager to be on the go! My foster family says I'm a joy to have around, and I recently had a blast adventuring at Lake Almanor, enjoying hikes, water, and even playing with a friendly yellow lab. I'm a smart pup who's eager to please and already offers sits! I walk nicely on leash and am confident and people-oriented, making me a potential candidate for dog sports like agility.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for an experienced adopter who can help me refine my manners, particularly when it comes to impulse control – I can be quite persistent when I want something! I'd do best in a home with kids over 8 years old and with individuals who have previous experience with large breeds. To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, I'd prefer a household without smaller animals, as my herding instincts can be a bit overwhelming for them. I also tend to be vocal when I have something on my mind, but with continued training and socialization, I'm confident I can learn to be more patient.

Ongoing Health

I'm a healthy pup with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

I'm still working on my impulse control and can be vocal when I want something. With consistent training and socialization, I'm eager to learn and improve. I'm also told I'm very trainable and love to do the right thing!
