Once Gigi gets to know you, she forms an unbreakable bond and becomes your most loyal and devoted friend. She's a wonderful dog for someone who enjoys a quiet home life and wants to cherish their furry companion without the hustle and bustle of constant outings. Gigi thrives on a consistent routine with her people.
Ideal Home
Gigi needs to be the only dog in the home and is looking for a home without children or other animals. She would do best in a low-traffic environment, away from busy apartment buildings or townhomes, and with minimal comings and goings of visitors. This is because she can become protective and territorial over her people and space.
Ongoing Health
Gigi is fully vetted and weighs between 60-70 lbs.
Training & Support
Gigi would do well with learning new tricks and challenges to keep her inquisitive mind engaged. When new people visit, she can be crated initially, and introductions can be managed in a controlled manner, which we can discuss further and has proven to be successful. Housetraining with rescues can be a work in progress, and even if a dog is doing well in their foster home, an adjustment period in a new environment is to be expected. We highly recommend a 2-week shutdown and decompression period for dogs entering a new home to ensure the best transition.

- Gigi has a partially sponsored adoption fee of $100.
- She is also available through our new Forever Foster program, where approved applicants can welcome her into their family at no cost. Wags will cover all vetting, regular and emergency care, preventatives, and vaccines for life, as well as provide additional support like transportation to appointments and "boarding" for vacations, for life! Inquire for more details.
- Adoption fees include all vetting to age, spay/neuter, and microchip. If the dog is under 6 months, altering and chipping will occur after they are 6 months, covered fully at our clinic or partially reimbursed at a vet of your choice. If older than 6 months and not altered, we will schedule this at our clinic within 30 days.
- A $60 rebate is provided for completing positive-based training classes.
- Adoption includes lifetime support from the rescue.
Transporation
We do most application processing virtually. Dog meets will be by appointment only with approved applicants. We are a foster-based rescue, not a traditional shelter. Gigi is located in Rochester, NY, and our adoption area is within a several-hour radius (including Canada, provided pets meet border crossing requirements).
