Dewey is a wonderfully smart and active companion who is eager to be your adventure buddy and your snuggle expert! Around 2 years old and 45-50 pounds, this Carolina Dog mix is ready to explore the great outdoors with you, whether it's a morning hike or a playful romp in the snow. Dewey loves to engage his brain with games like hide-and-seek and treat puzzles, and he finds endless joy in sniffing out new scents on long walks. He's also a proud owner of a squeaky ball and enjoys a good game of tug, especially with sturdy chews to keep him happily occupied. Dewey thrives on structure and routine, waiting patiently for walks, settling well in his crate, and enjoying cozy morning snuggles. He forms deep bonds and is a loyal protector of his people.
Ideal Home
Dewey would do best in a home without young children, ideally with an experienced adopter who can provide a calm, structured environment. A yard for sniffing and enrichment would be a big plus.
Ongoing Health
Dewey is a healthy boy!
Training & Support
Dewey experiences leash reactivity toward passing dogs, people, and bicycles. He is improving with dedicated work from his foster, but his adopter will need to be committed to continuing positive reinforcement training and mindful threshold management. He is crate trained, food motivated, and affectionate.
